Chili Cook-off and Canterbury Halloween

Put on your cutest and/or scariest costumes and join your CNA Neighbors for a fun night of extra Halloween Trick-or-Treating followed by our annual Chili Cookoff and Pitch-In Block Party on Castle Row this Saturday, October 29, starting at 4:00 p.m.!

Schedule of Events:

  • 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Neighborhood Trick-or-Treating

  • 6:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Chili Cookoff Tasting and Judging

  • 6:00 p.m. - ?:?? p.m. - Feasting, Games, Piñata, and Socializing

For the Special Trick-or-Treating hours, please display an orange balloon on Saturday if you would like to participate. Please note that this is voluntary and separate from the standard Marion county trick-or-treating hours on 10/31. You can get a balloon from the bag on light pole at 5623 Carvel Ave. (corner of Carvel and Castle Row).

For the Pitch-In Block Party, please bring a side dish, chips, and/or dessert. CNA will provide utensils, cups, paper plates and bowls, bottles water and soft drinks. Castle Row will be closed off for the block party (all neighbors have been informed, paperwork has been filed with the city, and blockades have been secured).

For the Chili Cook-Off (we need more contestants!)

  • Call (317-796-3064) or email (bobmuzik59@gmail.com) Bob Schneider to enter

  • Make your signature chili recipe & bring in your crock pot, along with any special condiments your recipe requires

  • CNA will provide utensils, shredded cheese, onions, sour cream, jalapeño peppers

  • Plugins and tables will be provided

Voting for the chili cook-off will be done by all in attendance using our tried-and-true "Tootsie Roll Voting" methodology, which Bob will review during the event.

We look forward to seeing everyone out in the neighborhood in their best costumes (or at least ready to enjoy some chili)!
